The video is part of the Blow My Bills Away project in which the artist humorously tackles the nuisance of paying monthly bills. Video shows close up view of a large calculator which the artist uses to sum the amounts of monthly bills from a period of several years. The large pile of bills, fast editing, accelerated movement and the growing sum on the calculator screen intensify the feeling of discomfort and illustrate the stress associated with the concern for survival that artists in a precarious situation face on a daily basis.
In addition to the video, the Blow My Bills Away exhibition at the Aksioma Project Space in 2012 also featured an installation of a blossoming cherry tree with flowers from payment slips and a composition of collages with origami from payment slips. (Source: DIVA Station)
