Iva Tratnik completed her MA in painting in 2012 at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Ljubljana. She researches a variety of artistic practices, including textile collages, painting with oil and acrylic on canvas, sculpture, drawing, installations and other site-specific interventions. In parallel, she is engaged in performance, where she experiments with voice, movement, mask. She works independently or in temporary collectives.

Since 2010 Tratnik participates in the collectives SIVA, IvAn, IvAnKe, Dr. Xenia, which are variations of collaborations with Celje artists Simon Macuh, Andreja Džakušič and Keiko Miyazaki. They are mainly engaged in the practices of everyday life, which through the artistic process find interesting, eloquent and even provocative uses and contexts.
