The DIVA News page refers to public presentations, exhibitions, screenings, publications in Slovenia and on the international scene, connected to participations of DIVA Station Video Archive and the video artists who had contributed their video artworks to the archive. We also introduce events organised by DIVA Station (SCCA-Ljubljana) in order to promote its content and usage.

On the 27th October we celebrated the World Audiovisual Heritage Day. In Slovenian Cinematheque we hosted the Argos Centre for Arts and Media from Brussels once again. Katia Rossini, Head of the Archive Collection, prepared and presented two curated programmes. A programme of short films and videos by Belgian artists Culture is Our Business and Johan Grimonprez's experimental documentary Dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y from 1997. More

At the Video Evening with DIVA Station, we are hosting Danilo Milovanović (aka DNLM). The artist notices, exposes, and subverts the conflicting relationships between nature and the urban in a critical-humorous way. By intervening in public space, he creates new symbolic and actual relationships between various street and architectural objects, as well as their context and usability. At the event, he will present video documentation of the many artistic interventions he has carried out in recent years. On Wednesday, 23 October 2024 at 7 pm in Photon Gallery. More


Back2Back is a series of events where we invite local and international authors to present their production and establish a dialogue with works of their choice from the DIVA Station archive. In cooperation with the International Centre of Graphic Arts and the MGLC Švicarija residency centre, we have invited visual artist Lea Culetto. The international programme These Roots, Interlacing the Worlds was curated by visual artist Lara Reichmann. She selected video works set in environments that are at least partly derived from physical and virtual reality. They create and transition between possible versions of a world where nature and technology are inseparably connected. Lealudvik is an art tandem formed in 2013 by Lea Jelenko and Matjaž Komel, active in the fields of visual art, graphic design and zine production. In their practice, Lealudvik mainly explore social concepts and phenomena. In addition to the occult, organised religions, black and white magic, they are interested in horror genres, the concept of the ego, taboos, sexuality, nudity, intimacy, freedom and apparent dichotomies (e.g. gender, nature vs. society). The Landscapes, Spaces programme was curated by DIVA Station asociate Robert Kuret. He chose films that with landscapes, both internal and external, in one way or another. 14th VideoGarden is part of the Ljubljana Art Weekend. The DIVA Station team (Vesna Bukovec, Peter Cerovšek, Robert Kuret) has prepared a curated program Modus operandi, which presents various ways of working in order to survive in today's neoliberal world. Participating: Nika Autor, Sara Bezovšek, Lada Cerar, Lenka Đorojević & Matej Stupica, Tomaž Furlan, Neža Knez, Danilo Milovanović, Nika Oblak & Primož Novak. The fourth edition of the international festival of experimental AV practices V-F-X Ljubljana (15 – 18 May 2024) in the Slovenian Cinematheque opens with the award-winning feature film Don’t Think It Will Ever Pass: 25. 4.–26. 1. by Tomaž Grom with live music. This year, we are putting African and Romanian productions and films by Slovenian students in the foreground, hosting the Viennese collective Total Refusal and paying homage to the films of Vasko Pregelj with a live electronic music. The Vistas programme brings an eclectic range of high-profile titles from the international scene. We close the festival in Kino Šiška with an immersive live performance by Amélie Nilles. The accompanying programme consists of an analogue film workshop, a panel discussion on independent film labs and the VR Point with a short film in virtual reality. More

The last of the four programmes of Neven Korda's film/video oeuvre screenings presents works from the period after 2000, when the author leaves both the studio system and collective creation and turns to the experimental form of video, which he processes on a personal computer.
